Sikkim Manipal University (SMU)Sikkim Manipal University (SMU) is the result of a unique partnership between the Government of Sikkim and Manipal Education. Established in 1995, it is the first government-private initiative in the region. It was set up with the objective of providing the best in education for students. SMU is recognized by the University Grants Commission and approved by the Government of India.

The beautiful campus is located in Majitar and Rangpo, amongst the picturesque settings of River Teesta and Kanchendzonga mountains. It hosts the second largest hospital in Sikkim, providing healthcare to the masses. The medical campus runs courses on medical, pharmacy, allied health and nursing while the technology campus has engineering, management courses, Twinning Programs and Applied Sciences.

The Vinayaka Mission University

The Vinayaka Missions University was established in 2001 under section 3 of the UGC Act 1956. The University had a significant evolution starting from 1982 with a pharmacy college as its first institution and over a period of three decades it has established over 27 education institutions in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.

The University status was conferred by the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India in 2001 with the recommendations of UGC as an acknowledgement of excellence and satisfaction of the highest level of academic standards and best infrastructure. The University is offering programs in the field of Medicine, Dental, Nursing, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Allied Health Science, Homoeopathy, Engineering, Management, Humanities and Applied Sciences. Besides, the university has the mission to spread education not only in India but across the world. This was achieved by starting Distance Education programs through our Directorate of Distance Education

The Directorate of Distance Education commenced its programs in the year 2007 with the objective of widening access to higher education for diversified learners at national and global levels. The academic programs are approved by the Distance Education Council, IGNOU, New Delhi, vide, DEC/VMRF/07/255/dated 28.2.2007.

Karnataka State Open University

Karnataka State Open University plays a significant role in promoting the desired growth of higher education through Open-distance learning system (ODL). Our country will be a super power only when it achieves the targeted growth of higher education, which it achieves the targeted growth of higher education, which is possible by the intervention of open and distance learning.

The University having a strong genesis of the Institute of Correspondence Course and Continuing Course and Continuing Education (ICC&CE), a pioneer in the Asian continent, was established in 1996 under the state enactment – KSOU Act 1992. As lucidly inscribed in its motto “Higher Education to Everyone Everywhere,” KSOU is evolving the strategies to reach the door-steps of the students not only in the state of Karnataka but also in the country and abroad. For this purpose, KSOU has established regional country and abroad. For this purpose, KSOU has established regional centers, even in abroad.

Periyar University Salem

The Government of Tamil Nadu established the Periyar University at Salem on 17th September 1997 as per the provisions of the Periyar University Act, 1997. The University covers the area comprising the districts of Salem, Namakkal, Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri. The University got the 12(B) and 2f status from the University Grants Commission and has been accredited by NAAC with B+ grade in 2007.

Periyar University imparts higher education at three levels, i.e., through its Departments of Study and Research, Periyar Institute of Distance Education (PRIDE) and the affiliated colleges. The University has eighteen departments of study offering Post Graduate and Research Programs and sixty six affiliated colleges.

Periyar Institute of Distance Education (PRIDE) is imbibing knowledge into the veins of the students who could not take up the regular academic studies in affiliated colleges due to their economic condition. PRIDE has five hundred and twenty five study centers throughout India and seven abroad.
